Day 1 - easy so far!
Starting the Whole30 on a busy Monday seemed like a bad April Fool's joke but here we are...
as I was gorging last night on all the non-compliant foods I could eat (whoopie pie, empanadas, etc.) I found myself feeling awful afterwards. This bad feeling was the sign I needed that this will be a good thing, despite how hard it might feel at times!
So far today I've had a spinach and bacon omelette, home fries, coffee, and a banana. Crystal saved me a pickle from her sandwich and now I'm off to find lunch. I might just go across the street to save time and get sushi, and eat it without the rice. Yes, that's what I did last year during Whole30. With good quality fish, it's actually tasty!
Update me on your Day 1!
XOXO

Hi! We haven't had a Mommy & Me day for a long time! This is going to be fun :)
ReplyDeleteBreakfast is a challenge for me, as I'm sure it is for everyone. Last night we ate out so we didn't have leftovers, but eventually dinner will also be breakfast. Except for those delicious eggs with bacon or sausage! Today I had 10oz of almond milk in the morning which I find quick and filling. Then I snacked on carrots, celery and guacamole. I remember drinking lots of water and it is good to fill up on all day. Of course it's hot here which makes it easier.
Dinner was chicken soup with some canned tomatoes, cilantro, lime & chicken. I hardly thought about the missing tortillas...
I bet there's lots of good sushi in NYC; I would be skeptical try it here. Fish is an easy filler at home, too, especially anything white like cod, halibut or haddock. You can just simmer it in chicken broth with scallions and lime. Is coconut milk off the list? Too much sugar probably.
XOXO
Day 2
ReplyDeleteSo, second day wasn't too bad, especially after the high protein breakfast. Lunch included a nice spinich salad with shrimp. The leftovers will be today's breakfast.
Dinner was at an event that had pork sliders (no bun), chicken tenders and sausage bites among other stuff...oh those chips :( again lots of water.
I picked up turkey breast to help throughout the day. Oh, and a green apple lol
How are you doing? I know in the beginning this and any diet is more about hassle and discipline than results, but hang in there! Aren't you glad you didn't remain a vegetarian 😋
Miss you! ❤
